Meet new PlanNet Marketing One-Star Director Shenila Hill Rodriguez! Shenila tells us, “I come from humble beginnings. Before I became of age to attend school, I lived in a small town called Shallotte, NC. After my father passed, my mother moved me and my three sisters to Wilmington, NC. I spent most of my childhood and teenage years in Wilmington. I watched my mother work hard as a single parent to provide for us. I was determined to go to college so I could let her know her hard work was not in vain. After graduating high school, I attended college at Johnson C. Smith University. Upon graduating from college, I worked for a large telecommunications company in Charlotte, NC. My job ultimately transferred me to Atlanta, GA in 1992. I have been living in Atlanta for 28 years. 

“I like sports, especially basketball and football. When I was growing up, my mom, sisters and I would gather around the television and watch ACC basketball. It was fun watching teams play all season long with the anticipation of seeing who would ultimately win the championship. I also like being involved in the community. I love giving back to others, so I dedicate a lot of time to helping non-profit organizations serve the community.

“I love to travel. Travel broadens your horizons and makes you a more well-rounded person. I like seeing the differences in how people from other parts of the world, and even the United States, live their lives. I also enjoy seeing the beauty of the world. My most memorable travel experience occurred when I traveled to Dubai a few years ago. It was amazing; Dubai is one of the most fascinating cities in the world. Beautiful real estate and tourism drive the robust economy. The city is literally miles and miles of innovative and over-the-top development. A fascinating experience was going to the top of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and looking at the incredible views stretching into the Persian Gulf.

“I am achieving success at PlanNet Marketing by using a combination of building a strong team, a heavy focus on coaching and developing new team members, staying focused during these times, and duplication deep into the matrix as keys to my success. Using a team-based approach to introduce people to this amazing opportunity works extremely well in compressing your timeframe to reach Directorship. I instill in my business partners how important it is to work as a team because you accomplish more as a team than you ever would working alone. A lot of our success has come from several business partners coming together and doing joint business showcases. This is particularly successful when several business partners in the same downline come together to host a business showcase because everyone’s matrix grows when new business partners join. Because we are consistent with using a team-based approach, we can expose a larger number of people to this opportunity in a short amount of time.

“I believe winning with people never stops. You must win with people BEFORE they come into your organization and you must win with people AFTER they join the organization. We place a lot of focus on coaching and developing our new business partners and showing them the value of what they purchased and how to use the tools and process to build their teams. I study my genealogy and I constantly ask questions about who has joined our organization. I take time to understand who they are and what goals they are trying to achieve in this business. We are very intentional about identifying team members who are serious about building a business, not just in their words but in their actions. We show them how to use our team-based approach to build their teams. Our team-based model, with a heavy focus on duplication, has a multiplying effect on growing our organization in a compressed time frame.

“We have continued to build fast even amid these times. We capitalized on the fact that many people are at home and have more time to join a Zoom call to hear about this amazing opportunity. We quickly found we were able to expose a large number of people to this information by doing multiple Zoom calls every single day. People may not be open to hearing about travel right now, but people are always open to hearing about how to create financial freedom for their families. Our messaging places a lot of emphasis on creating financial freedom and multiple streams of income. This message resonates with a lot of people, especially in this current environment where we are all particularly vulnerable to job loss. A message I constantly deliver to my team is if you want to get paid nine levels deep, you must build nine levels deep. To that end, I instill how important it is to duplicate what we do throughout all levels of the matrix. Without duplication, your organization will not grow, and neither will your paycheck.

“And finally, we treat this business like it is a business. Most of us have worked hard to help corporations build their businesses. We recognize we must work just as hard to build our own businesses. To that end, we subscribe to the principles of John Maxwell – we don’t just buy the dream; we also buy the journey. And the journey consists of work. It has been worth the work because I feel secure in knowing I have secured the PlanNet Marketing pledge for my son, Myles.

“A fun fact about me is I dared to zipline across Lake Lanier in Georgia in 2015. It was the scariest experience I ever had. And no, I would not do it again. Once was enough.
