MEET ONE-STAR DIRECTOR TRU’KESSA SCOTT!

TruKessa-Scott-1Star-announce.jpg

Meet new One-Star Director Tru’Kessa Scott! Tru’Kessa is from Dothan, AL and currently resides in Madison, AL. She works for the Department of Defense as a software engineer on Redstone Arsenal. She tells us, “I was raised by my late grandmother and never had a chance to travel as a kid. So as an adult, I had a strong desire to travel the world and experience the life of different cultures. I have been on over 20 international trips in the past five years. I am the person at work with 0.2 vacation hours because I am always going somewhere and using my PTO (paid time off). The farthest trip I have taken is to Japan.

“I can attribute my success of hitting Director to my team. They truly are a team of champions that pulled through for me and in less than 30 days, we helped over 25 families and became a One-Star team. One thing we did was remain consistent and used the system. One tip I would give is to follow the system and show the plan more than you ever have before. Videos, webinars, calls, more videos, more webinars, and more calls made all the difference. Just work the system.

“I didn't achieve success quickly, given I originally became a Gold Builder in two weeks and then I hit DIT in less than a year. The road to Directorship was a bit different. It contained a lot of ups and downs, addition and attrition. But through it all, I learned that if you decide you want something, just because you don't get it when you want it does not mean you stop wanting. Just never give up on what you want. Don't adjust your goals, adjust your efforts.

“A fun fact: I am a foodie. I love to try new cuisines in all the different places I visit. I will try just about anything at least once. :) And my motto in life – I work hard just so I can play harder!”

MEET 20/20 CLUB MEMBER CARRIE HURLEY!

PlanNet Marketing is pleased to welcome Carrie Hurley to the 20/20 Club! She shares, “I am from a small town in northwest Arkansas. I was born here, as were my mother and grandmother.  When my family moved away, it was to Papua, New Guinea! Living internationally had a profound impact on my life and changed me more than I could ever have imagined. We returned to Arkansas where I graduated university and taught school, but then I moved on my own to Orlando, FL to work with a Christian nonprofit organization where I met my husband. After several moves, we are now back in the town I grew up in!

“I love music – singing, playing the piano, composing. Spending time with my family is so very important to me – we bake, play games, watch movies, and go on road trips. I love to read, and I am passionate about helping other female small business owners grow their business. In the midst of business and life, I also homeschool our four children.

“My travel experiences began as a child – we were poor, but my parents were determined that we would see the country, so we camped through much of the United States and even up into Canada.  When I was 15, I took my first plane ride from Arkansas to Papua, New Guinea and lived there with my family for two years. I had amazing experiences living in another country, going to school with kids from all around the world. On our way home, we stopped in Hong Kong for several days – that was a bit shocking to go from a small expat community to a city that never sleeps! My favorite places to travel internationally are northern Ireland and Thailand. Travel is in my blood and I am excited to have my children also be bitten by the travel bug!  Right now, with four younger kiddos, we do a lot of road trips, but we have the goal of spending extended time worldschooling!

“I am so very grateful for the leadership that I joined under! It has been a blessing to NOT have to reinvent the wheel, but to follow in the footsteps of those who have been successful. Also, I am thrilled to be able to work in tandem with my husband!  We are individual PlanNet Reps, but I love being able to work side-by-side with him as we build our legacy for our family.

“As far as tips? Follow up, follow up, follow up! Always be kind, and don't be in a rush for people to join your team – I have people on my team that have, by their own admission, "stalked" me for months on Facebook before joining me. The number of individuals who have expressed appreciation at my persistent, but not pushy approach is definitely a key to my team's success!

“A fun fact: My husband and I, with three kiddos aged three and under, lived off-grid in the California high desert for 10 weeks doing disaster relief training. I have performed in numerous musicals – Fiddler on the Roof, My Fair Lady, and Quilters, to name a few. In spite of all my musical experience, I have never sung karaoke! (bucket list!  LOL)

PlanNet Marketing is pleased to welcome Carmen Ray to the 20/20 Club! Carmen was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and relocated to the east valley of Arizona in January 2014.

Carmen says, “My interests include spending time with family, friends, and curling up with a good book. I have four adult children and five grandchildren. I enjoy traveling and listening to neo-soul music.

“I attribute my success to the consistent efforts of my team and my consistency and coachability. My tips are to talk less and listen more and never miss a meeting you qualify to attend, especially the yearly conventions.

“I have traveled to London, the Bahamas, and several of the United States. Since joining this business, my travel has increased and I experienced my first cruise with Disney Cruise Line – it was spectacular!

“A fun fact about that cruise: I've always wanted to experience Disney with my children. Oh well, they're all grown and gone, so I treated myself to a Disney Cruise and had a blast!”

THE LEADERSHIP SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON: TAMARIAN MADDOX

Tamarian-Maddox-Spotlight-Oct4.jpg

1. Where were you born and raised; current city; family; hobbies; past business highlights...
I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, where I currently live. The great part about this business is that my hobbies include my business. When I worked on a job, I honestly wanted to forget about it when I was off the clock. The feeling PlanNet Marketing gives me is something I never want to forget.

2. How have you grown or personally developed since joining PlanNet?
I am extremely amazed at how much I have grown and so is my family. My entire life, people thought I was so mean because I didn't talk to too many people. In less than six months, PlanNet Marketing changed what no one has ever been able to change. I talk to everyone now and every day I'm talking to someone new.

3. What drives you; what motivates you?
My mom is and has always been my motivation. My drive now is people just like me. PlanNet Marketing has given me the opportunity to get to know people on a deeper level and truly listen to what they need.

4. Who would you consider a role model and why?
My role model is definitely Felicia Miles. She has sacrificed a lot to help so many people. She truly showed me that there are still good people in this world. She does everything she can to help me every step of the way, along with many others. She made it to the top and is constantly reaching down to lift many of us up.

5. The three words that describe you best are:
Loyal, Determined, and Selfless.

6. If you had some sound advice to give to anyone what would it be?
I know many of us get comfortable with what's familiar, because it feels good. It only feels good because you haven't felt better. I didn't know anything about Time Freedom and Personal Freedom until I was introduced to PlanNet Marketing. It felt good to have a job to pay bills, but it feels better to pay bills and have Time Freedom. It's definitely worth it to be uncomfortable for a little while, so you can live comfortably for the rest of your life.

7. What does your life look like five years from now?
I have accomplished my goal of retiring myself, so now within the next five years, I would like to help 5,000 families get to financial freedom. I will be debt-free.
